This is my first tutorial on how I draw the skin. Most of the skin tutorials are all words and were confusing to me. Also this is a LINK to the video I mentioned above. I apologize if this is kind of messy but please feel free to ask me questions about anything here you didn’t understand.

Hey, guys! So, we’re all familiar with Cyberpunk and Steampunk, but there are so many more alternate histories/speculative science fiction genres out there! I came across this handy-dandy infographic and figured I could share a bit of these punk genres for anyone interested.
- Steampunk
Roughly covers the Western world during the mid- to late-19th century (ie: Victorian era, US wild west, etc.), and sometimes up to the Edwardian era.- Dieselpunk
1920s up through WWII, ending at just about the Cold War.- Decopunk
A cleaner, artistic, more “optimistic” version of Dieselpunk (same time period)- Clockpunk
Covers the time of the Renaissance (think da Vinci)- Atompunk
Cold War era, ie: the Space Race- Teslapunk
Derivative of Steampunk, but focuses on electricity rather than steam.- Splatterpunk
Explicit horror and gore- Biopunk
Biotechnology, genetics (part science fiction, part real life)- Nanopunk
Nanotechnology, sometimes overlaps with Biopunk- Cyberpunk
The granddaddy of them all: computer technology, the internet, hackers, etc.Others not included in the infographic
- Elfpunk
Fantasy-based, features creatures like elves and fairies.- Mythpunk
Mythology and folklore, includes urban fantasy.- Seapunk?
- Stonepunk, Bronzepunk, Plaguepunk
a bunch of people were saying they found my last arm study helpful, so i thought i’d post my other ones here too :D
omg third one on the second row is the reference I’ve been needing for a picture forever
This is the most unhelpful tutorial I’ve ever made- it’s so disjointed and I don’t know if I’m even communicating how I did this… but essentially, from observation as well as learning from others, I have designed this … pseudo-technique-thing that i use in some of my more serious colored work. It’s a sort of cel-shaded technique that someone might find useful.
I’ve gotten better at distinguishing form shadows and cast shadows since I made this… so … you might just want to ignore that bit I posted. XD It doesn’t make much sense. but maybe I will make a new tutorial in the future.
I’m not saying this is the “right” way to do it- it’s just my way. It may or may not work for you.
This is an unfinished collab- I just figured I’d post a bit on how I made it because i do like how the colors came out, and I figured I might share my photoshop technique with others.
The lineart is by BosnianSniper.tumblr.com! It is a collab with Otto, the mod.
Amalia, the maid, is giving Friedrich a sponge bath. Because he’s an old geezer who can’t take care of himself. Derp.
The lighting at the last step is the same one I used in my previous tutorial. I forgot to mention that it is on OVERLAY with 15 percent opacity.
